Byng ‘n’ Band Day! Yesterday was our Midsummer Celebration – a chance to relax, take a day off from arts programs, and enjoy something a little different! In the morning, campers took yoga, learned how to juggle, sang shanties, played field games or listened to a Chinese epic story, still in their pajamas. After lunch, it was off to Byng water park, for a sunny couple of hours splashing in the water, swimming or relaxing under the trees with a book.

By the time we returned to camp, guest workshop leaders were already assembled – Quammie Williams to teach African Drumming and the Acapella group – Cadence – offering a Masterclass in vocals. In addition, there were writing and Ukelele workshops, or campers had the opportunity to choose a couple of hours to relax together in the dorms.  Photos are available at https://www.centauriartscamp.com/media/Galleries/2012/index.htm

After a 1920s theme supper, the entire camp gathered in the Odyssey Theatre for a concert by Cadence. This was a huge hit with everyone, and a wonderful way to spend a Midsummer evening. The concert was followed by extended porch time under the stars… and now, the second half of the summer is underway!
