I’m so inspired by everything that’s happening in Centauri Arts Camp right now! After lunch, I wandered into the Odyssey Theatre. 32 campers and 4 staff members were hard at work putting together The Earth Project for the final day. This is a joint project between Jordi’s Theatre (Collective Creation) program and Veronica’s dance program. Both groups received the same source material at the start of the session and from that, each group worked separately to explore the concept of planet Earth and what it means to us, its inhabitants. Now, the scenes and dances are being interwoven to create a wonderful final performance.
But The Earth Project is only one of two collaborations going on at camp right now! Across the corridor, in the Orion Studio, our Musical Theatre campers are standing around the piano, working on a vocal music piece, while the stage combat campers dance with rapiers on stage. They are all working together on an production inspired by Romeo and Juliet that is shaping up to be truly incredible.
