With Session Two now well underway, I took a tour of programs this morning! Our Dancers were choreographing a dance using multicoloured flashlight beams in darkness, which looked spectacular. The Zen of Comedy campers were analysing famous movie clips and discussing how they could use the various styles in their improv work. Mr Hollow’s Theatre Troupe was working with scripts and down in the parking lot, ‘Film Styles‘ was filming on location, using actors dressed as security guards. In Creative Writing, campers were deciding on the pieces to include in the final performance and across in the Vocal Music studio, singers were workshopping ‘The Rainbow Connection’. Clowns were playing together, having ‘graduated ‘ to their clown noses yesterday, and the Quest campers were assembling stained glass pieces, learning about this medieval art form by experiencing it firsthand. In the ‘Cartoons’ program, our younger art campers were discussing flip books, and zany ideas for cartoons (“how about a banana eating a monkey?”) while our ‘Triple Threat’ artists were finishing oil paintings. It’s a great day here at Centauri Arts Camp, packed with creative inspiration, as always. Last night, we had a wildly active evening program – ‘Centauri Night Live’. This evening, we calm camp down with ‘Pajamarama Night’ and campers will choose from activities such as Yoga, Board Games, Campfire, or – for those who still need to run off energy – WOLF PACK!!
