Last night our camp counsellors, program directors and Senior Staff came together at the Centauri Arts Academy in Toronto for an evening of yummy food, terrific friendship and wonderful arts performances! For many of our staff, this was the first time they had seen each other since the end of last summer! We drank fruit punch (made for us by two of the G1 campers!), ate Thai food, played games, swapped holiday gifts and performed for one another. Marcia read an excerpt from her latest play, Emily and Craig performed on ukelele/bodhran and Olivia sang a beautiful song. We were surprised at how many Centauri staff members are already planning festivals and evening programs for the summer! It’s too early to release the details… but let’s just say that fans of Dr Who, Harry Potter and Miyazaki will NOT be disappointed!
Now, summer seems closer than ever. With thirty of us crammed into the Arts Academy space, all sharing memories from 2014 and plans for next summer, I’m reminded how fortunate we are, at Centauri, to spend our summers with so many inspiring, creative and talented people.
Happy New Year, everyone! The next camp season is closer than you think!
