Tonight at camp, Aaron and Alanna ran their fourth annual Choose-Your-Own-Adventure program, and this year the theme was DRAGONS! Dorms began with a treasure hunt for dragons’ eggs, then found themselves creating ‘good’ and ‘evil’ dragons with a host of costumes and other items. After that, the entire camp (about 150 dragons in total…) marched down to the sports field for a massive face-off between Good and Evil! In three totally awesome competitions, good and evil dragons were pitted against one another while the rest of the camp cheered and chanted on the sidelines. We played Family Feud (dragon-style!) followed by The Dragon Hoard Sneak, and concluded with a game of Capture the Dragon Egg, involving half the dorms on camp. Behind us all, a fiery sunset blazed, as if the sky was filled with dragons as well as the sports field.
Tomorrow, it’s Tech Day. Where did the last two weeks go? Our days are filled with magic and excitement so that they seem simultaneously to last forever, and to whizz by in a flash. Tonight was actually the final evening program of session two. Now, we turn our attention to preparations for the presentations on Saturday. That doesn’t mean, however, that the fun is over! Tomorrow night’s dinner will be a crazy, high-energy spirit supper. We have the final party of the session to look forward to, magical final dorm hours, water games, final elective workshops and – of course – the all-important Centauri Secret Ceremony on the last night of the session…
